Clara Conover

Lead Organizer

(She/Her/Hers)

Clara Conover is an organizer, trainer, and Cincinnati native organizing to get young people a seat at the table wherever decisions are made. She’s been organizing with OSA since her senior year of college, starting on staff as Digital Organizer before becoming Lead Organizer in January 2025, leading OSA’s campaign to stop SB 1 and building five new chapters as a result.

Clara has a near-decade of experience in grassroots community work done in many special places with many wonderful people. She has farmed garlic with Mennonite communities in rural Kentucky, organized poetry open mics, taught Youth Participatory Action Research in Cincinnati Public Schools, mapped industrial air pollution in Cleveland’s Slavic Village, and advocated for truly affordable housing in Cincinnati’s Issue 24 ballot campaign. Her passion for people power ignited during her time in Miami’s Urban Cohort at Peaslee Neighborhood Center in Cincinnati’s Over-the-Rhine neighborhood, learning from the legacy of the Over-the-Rhine People’s Movement.

After four years at Miami University, Clara graduated with her MA in Geography and BAs in Political Science and Geography & Sustainable Development and a certificate in Fostering Just Communities. While writing her master’s thesis, she began organizing to protect her education in response to the Ohio legislature’s threat of censorship and hasn’t stopped since.

In addition to her work at OSA, Clara is a Board Member at Honesty for Ohio Education and works with Youth Democracy Lab to train young organizers across the nation. In her free time, Clara finds joy in writing, painting, playing guitar, looking at maps, listening to podcasts, practicing hot yoga, and spending time with her cat, Nola.
