NICA DELGADO
DIGITAL ORGANIZING FELLOW
She/Her/Hers
Nica is currently a student at Kent State University, pursuing a Bachelors of Cultural Anthropology with a minor in World Literature and Culture. Additionally she is the Vice President of Kent State’s Ohio Student Association chapter.
As a Digital Organizer, she works with OSA organizers and member leaders to support and implement digital strategy on local and statewide campaigns, participate in team and statewide meetings, and operate all relevant social media channels. She loves that this position allows them to interact with a diverse group of peers from around the state.
Nica considers herself lucky to know firsthand the struggles of immigrants, people with disabilities, and veterans. She grew up with a desire to help her loved ones live a better and more fulfilling life, and for nearly a decade has been working locally to accomplish her goals. Her experience includes leading DEI workshops, registering Ohioans to vote, mentoring, and volunteering. She hopes that by working closely with OSA, she will be able to build on their experience and create new opportunities for others.
In addition to being a Digital Organizer Fellow, she also illustrates for an indie media company and help facilitate outreach events for her local children’s museum. Although Nica mostly uses her free time to study, she also enjoys playing video games, practicing their pottery skills, and sewing.
